ITCS 551: Strategic Planning for Information Systems: (3-0-3) This course is inter-disciplinary in that it examines complex market, business and technical issues facing companies in the global information society. A primary focus of the course concerns theoretical models and frameworks for strategic planning for information systems with particular emphasis on internet commerce. Secondary emphasis is placed on evaluation of four types of IT outsourcing (total, selective, and joint venture outsourcing plus in-sourcing) and understanding emerging trends in electronic commerce (application service providers)
