FIRST VIRTUAL LIBRARY
ESTABLISHED IN BAHRAIN |
| Ahlia
University’s Library is a first in the Gulf on two
scores. Ahlia University through Edutech has established
in effect the first Information Age Library in Bahrain
which affords on-line access to library users to more
than 3000 e-books, 1800 e-periodicals and 200 cases studies.
Users can access the e-library holdings currently from
Ahlia University terminals but very soon, any registered
user, will be able to peruse the e-library from the comfort
of their PC at home using an upgraded version of the Ahlia
University website as a portal. Ahlia University also
has put in place the Virtua library management system
for its collection of conventional books that allows for
automated check out and tracing of library holdings. To
encourage unfettered research and learning, Ahlia University
is committed to creating and maintaining a state-of-the-art
library for the academic utility of Ahlia’s students
and faculty. For more information on the Ahlia University
Library, click “Library” on the main page. |
