AHLIA - BRUNEL SIGNING CEREMONY

Professor Abdullah Hawaj, President of Ahlia University, and Professor Steven Schwartz, Vice Chancellor of Brunel University, signed on October 6, 2003, a comprehensive agreement of academic cooperation between the two universities that, among other benefits, will permit Ahlia students, after two years of study at Ahlia , to continue their undergraduate studies at Brunel earning, at the conclusion of their undergraduate programme, a Brunel Bachelor's degree. In addition, holders of Ahlia undergraduate degrees can earn Master's degrees at Brunel and it is envisioned, in the near future, that Brunel will offer Doctoral degrees through the Ahlia University campus.

Ahlia Univesity concluded this strategic partnership with Brunel University in recognition of the high standards that Brunel maintains in the fields of teaching and research in the UK and in view of Brunel's investment in academic infrastructure which will catapult Brunel into the forefront of universities in the UK in terms of modernization. The two universities have joined forces with the objective of providing Gulf students with unsurpassed academic opportunities to continue their higher education either on-shore or off-shore, or a combination thereof, according to the preference of degree-seeker.
